Manakamana Temple reopens after 4 months

September 8, 2021

KATHMANDU: The Manakamana Temple has reopened from Wednesday, four months after the coronavirus pandemic forced the sacred place of Hindu Goddess Bhagwati to shut its doors.
The local administration on May 6 had closed the temple amid a surge in Covid-19 cases throughout the country.
The Manakamana Area Development Committee has decided to reopen the temple for the general public with the decline in Covid-19 cases and death rate.
“People were allowed to enter the temple from today morning after performing regular rituals,” a priest at the temple said.
Earlier, the devotees used to offer prayers from outside the main door.
