Gagan Thapa formally joins Ram Chandra Paudel faction

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Gagan Thapa has formally joined the faction led by Ram Chandra Paudel.

Earlier on August 30, Thapa had announced his candidacy for the post of general secretary of Nepali Congress in the 14th general convention.

He attended a meeting of the establishment faction held at the party office in Sanepa on Thursday.

Thapa had vied for the post of general secretary from the Krishna Prasad Sitaula camp in the previous general convention.

Shashanka Koirala, who had contested for the post of general secretary in the earlier general convention, Arjun Narsingh KC and Gagan Thapa have now stood at the same place.
