KATHMANDU: With the decline in Covid-19 cases, the Gokarneshwor Municipality has started opening community and private schools from Tuesday after a hiatus of four months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The schools have been conducting classes virtually in the light of a surge in Covid-19 cases after the government imposed prohibitory orders on April 29, 2021.
Under Secretary Bijay Prasad Acharya of the Education, Youth and Sports Department of the Municipality said that they decided to open the schools following a meeting with the Municipal Education Committee and concerned stakeholders.
The Municipality warned that action would be taken against the schools if they did not abide by the health safety protocols.
The schools have been operating according to the shift in the Gokarneshwor Municipality.
