Kathmandu DAO urges people to celebrate upcoming festivals following COVID protocol

KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu, has requested the public to celebrate festivals like Janapurnima, Rishi Trapani and Gaijatra in a symbolic manner without any crowds as the prohibitory orders is still in force.

As the Covid-19 infection rate and its risk of increasing is high, the administration has asked to celebrate the festival in a symbolic manner in full compliance with the health protocol.

The administration has also requested not to engage in crowded activities as the prohibitory order remains in force till midnight on August 24.

A joint meeting of the Chief District Officers of all the districts held on Tuesday had decided to extend the prohibitory orders from August 12 to August 24.
