800,000 doses of Vero Cell vaccines arrive in Kathmandu
KATHMANDU: As many as 800,000 doses Vero Cell vaccines have arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday morning. Preparations are underway to bring additional 800,000 doses of vaccines tomorrow.
The government had signed a deal with the Sinopharm, a Chinese company, to buy 6 million doses of Vero Cell vaccines. Earlier, Nepal had purchased 4 million doses of Vero Cell vaccines under a non-disclosure agreement.
The remaining 4.4 million doses of Vero cell vaccines will be brought in the last week of August.
The vaccines are kept in the store rooms of Tribhuvan International Airport and Teku.
Meanwhile, out of 1.6 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines provided by Japan through Covax, around 700,000 doses of vaccines will arrive on August 21 and 23.
