Asta Laxmi to be appointed as Chief Minister of Bagmati Province

KATHMANDU:  CPN (UML) leader Asta Laxmi Shakya is to be appointed as Chief Minister of the Bagmati Province this evening or tomorrow morning.

Asta Laxmi Shakya, who is also close to the Madhav Nepal faction, stood against the party split, is all set to become the next Chief Minister (CM) of Bagmati Province.

While the CPN-UML is making final preparations for the split, a twist has started to appear in the Madhav Nepal faction. Its effect is first seen in the government of Bagmati Province.

Politburo member and state assembly member Arun Nepal informed that the meeting of the UML parliamentary party is about to start in Hetauda and the party leader might be changed today.

Shakya is likely to be the next CM of the province after Chief Minister Dormani Poudel resigned as the leader of the UML’s parliamentary party of Bagmati Province.
