Nepal not to host SAFF Championship
KATHMANDU : The 13th edition of SAFF Championship Football is going to be held in Maldives starting October 1 to October 13.
Earlier, the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) had proposed the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) to hold the SAAF Championship 2021 in Nepal.
The Bangladesh Football Federation had pulled out as the host due to the rising Covid-19 infections in the country during a recent SAFF meeting which was held on July 23 .
In 2013, Nepal lost to Afghanistan in the semifinals. India has won the title seven times so far and has become the most successful team in the championship while Nepal have not reached the final yet.
