NRB directs NTA to shut down illegal online betting sites including 1XBET
KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has directed the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) to shut down various illegal online betting sites including 1XBET.
The NRB took the decision to this effect following a series of news published by the Nepal Press pertaining to the issue.
A team of crime branch of the Nepal Police, has also been searching for those involved in the illegal betting.
The NRB instructed the NTA to shut down online betting sites including 1XBET across the country by sending a letter.
The NTA, soon after receiving the letter, on Monday directed the internet service providers to shut down online betting and gambling related websites including 1XBET across the country.
The NRB on July 15 had directed the NTA to shut down the online betting sites.
Lately, illegal betting and online casinos are flourishing in Nepal.
