Yadav-Bhattarai faction gets official status of JSP-N

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has granted the party name and election symbol to the Upendra Yadav-Baburam Bhattarai faction of the Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal (JSP-N).

JSP-N leader Ram Naresh Raya said that the EC has awarded the official status to Yadav-Bhattarai faction.

The EC on Monday afternoon had called all the 51 executive committee members of the party to its office for a head count.

Out of 51 executive members, 34 members had thrown their weight behind Yadav-Bhattarai faction while 16 had supported Thakur-Mahato faction and one remained neutral.
