Japan’s Yuto wins 1st ever Olympic skateboard gold

KATHMANDU: . Japan’s Yuto Horigome  has won the first gold medal in street skateboarding at the Tokyo Olympics.

Skateboarding is the first sport to be included in the Olympics, along with four other new sports. Along with surfing, sport climbing and karate, baseball is also a new sport at the Olympics this year.

In the competition held at Ariake Urban Sports Park on Sunday morning, Yuto won the historic gold with a score of 37.18. Brazil’s Kelvin Hoefler and American Jagger Eaton won the silver with 36.15 points and the bronze medal with 35.35 points respectively.
