UML CC meet entrusts Chair Oli with responsibility of making last-ditch effort for party unity
KATHMANDU: A Central Committee (CC) meeting of the CPN-UML has entrusted party Chairman KP Sharma Oli with the responsibility of roping in as many leaders as possible for the party unity and to give continuity to the party unity process.
The 10th meeting of the Central Committee held on Thursday concluded that the leaders violating the party directive can also be given clemency for the party unity.
Talking to journalists after the meeting, party spokesperson Pradeep Gyawali said, “The meeting has concluded that the leaders would adopt utmost flexibility to keep the party unity intact.” “The party chairman has said that he will forgive their past mistakes and will welcome them if they wanted to come back and strengthen the party,” he added.
Earlier, Chairman Oli had asked the 22 lawmakers, who had voted for Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba during the floor test, to explain why they should not be expelled from the party for carrying out anti-party activities.
