ADB to provide Rs 19.8 bln loan to buy Covid-19 vaccines for Nepal

KATHMANDU: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has decided to provide loan assistance of Rs 19.8 billion to buy Covid-19 vaccines for Nepal

Issuing to a statement on Thursday, the multilateral funding agency said that the amount will help Nepal to procure 15.9 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, which will benefit 68 million Nepalis.

“The assistance will play an instrumental role to prevent coronavirus from spreading and save the lives of people in Nepal,” Masatsugu Asakawa, President of ADB said.

The ADB also urged the Nepal government to purchase the vaccines and inoculate the jabs to the people at the earliest.
