Procedure of taking vote of confidence by PM starts

KATHMANDU : Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has started the process of taking a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives.

Addressing the ongoing meeting, Prime Minister Deuba will seek a vote of confidence. Deuba is expected to have the support of the Nepali Congress, the CPN-Maoist, the Janata Samajwadi Party and the CPN-UML’s Madhav Nepal faction.

There are currently 271 members in the House of Representatives. A vote of confidence requires the support of at least 136 lawmakers.
