Deuba appointed Prime Minister as per Supreme Court’s interim order

KATHMANDU: President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has appointed Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister, as per the order of the Supreme Court.

Deuba has been appointed as the Prime Minister in accordance with Article 76 (5) of the Constitution. Though Deuba has been appointed as the Prime Minister, coordination is underway for the swearing-in, said Tika Dhakal, Press Advisor to the President.

Deuba is currently in talks with the coalition. The swearing-in ceremony of the new Prime Minister will be held at Sheetal Niwas till late today evening.
