Supreme Court orders not to implement citizenship ordinance

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued an order not to implement the citizenship ordinance immediately. 

The Constitutional Bench sitting today has stopped the implementation of the ordinance recently issued by the government saying that such issues should be passed by the parliament and via law itself.

Judges Deepak Kumar Karki, Meera Khadka, Harikrishna Karki and Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada participated in the constitutional session chaired by Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana.
