Government will not let there be a shortage of oxygen: Minister Manandhar
KATHMANDU: State Minister for Urban Development Ram Bir Manandhar said that there will be no shortage of oxygen during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While monitoring the Janamaitri Hospital in Balaju today, Manandhar said that the government is working seriously to prevent a shortage from occurring.
Minister Manandhar urged the industrialists and businessmen not to consume oxygen in other areas as the present government is taking all necessary measures to control the pandemic.
He urged the large private hospitals across the country to become temporary COVID Hospitals in this situation of emergency and assured that the state would provide necessary financial and technical assistance for the treatment of the patients.
The Janamaitri hospital, which had remained closed, will be operational from today with 30 beds for COVID-19 infected. The Director of the hospital Umesh Pandey informed that the 40-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 120 beds will be brought into operation in a few days.
