Constitutional Council meeting continues in presence of Chief Justice
KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Constitutional Council has started at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar. The meeting is discussing the appointment of vacant posts in the constitutional bodies.
Leader of the Opposition Sher Bahadur Deuba and Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota are not participating in the council meeting. Deuba and Prachanda had also requested Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabara not to attend the meeting.
However, Rana and National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Timalsina are participating in the meeting chaired by Prime Minister KP Oli. An ordinance has been issued to hold meetings and make decisions in the presence of majority members.
