COVID-19 infected commits suicide in Rupandehi

RUPANDEHI: A young man has committed suicide by hanging himself after being infected with COVID-19 at the COVID Special Hospital in Sainamaina of Rupandehi.

Mayor Chitra Bahadur Karki informed that the infected person committed suicide by hanging himself in the toilet at the COVID Special Temporary Hospital which was reopened three days ago in the building of Padampani Yoga and Naturopathy Hospital at Sainamina-1, Bankatta.

Mayor KC said, “He was a little anxious, his morale was low. We had been reminding him to see a psychiatrist.”

A helicopter was ordered from the hospital for a chronic patient who was taken to Kathmandu for treatment only yesterday.

The hospital currently has three monitor beds, five oxygen beds and 45 isolation beds. 

These services were expanded only a few days ago.
