Ongoing parliamentary session to end at 1 PM today

KATHMANDU: The winter session of the parliament is scheduled to end at 1 PM today. A Minister informed that today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers has recommended to the President to end the parliamentary session.

After the dissolution of the House of Representatives on 20th December, the session of the reconstituted House of Representatives began on 7th March.

As the parliament has not been able to do any work in the meantime, it has been recommended to the President by the government to end the current winter session to maintain a gap for the budget session. 

As per the recommendation of the government, the President will issue a notice of the end of the parliament session. As the budget has to be brought on 28th May and the government’s policy and program will be presented before that, the annual convention will be convened soon.
