No-confidence motion registered against Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel

KATHMANDU: A no-confidence motion has been filed against Lumbini Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel.

Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Center and People’s Socialist Party have recently filed a no-confidence motion in the Provincial Assembly Secretariat.

After the no-confidence motion, Kul Prasad KC of the UCPN (M) has been proposed as the new Chief Minister.

The no-confidence motion has been signed by 41 parliamentarians. Of them, 19 are from Nepali Congress, 17 from Maoists and 5 from PSP. Kalpana Pandey from JSP has not signed it. She said she did not sign the no-confidence motion because it was not an official decision of the party.
