Cabinet meeting to be held today evening to discuss proposal by CCMC 

KATHMANDU: A regular meeting of the cabinet is going to be held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar this evening.

The meeting will discuss further steps to be taken by the government to control the increasing risk of infection of the new variant of COVID. 

A meeting of the CCMC chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel on Saturday recommended an 11-point proposal to the Council of Ministers for control of the latest risks.

The meeting will discuss the CCMC’s recommendation. CCMC has recommended new criteria including three-week school closure in urban areas including Kathmandu.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Pradip Gyawali and Health Minister Hridayesh Tripathi are holding telephone conversations with their Indian counterparts to supply vaccines. Government Spokesperson Parbat Gurung said the government was focused on controlling the second wave of COVID.
