Antigen testing to be done at Kathmandu entry points
KATHMANDU: The government has said that new species of coronavirus has spread and antigens will be tested at the entry points of Kathmandu Valley.
Announcing the decision of the ministerial meeting at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Health, spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam said that antigen tests would be conducted at the points of entry from time to time.
The government has decided to issue directives to all district administrations (DCCMCs) to stop gatherings and rallies in the district.
The ministry has also urged the entrants from different entry points to stay in the home quarantine and follow the public health standards. Municipalities are also urged to test antigens.
The ministry has also decided to keep public and private laboratories testing COVID ready and to set up 2,000 SBU beds. It has also been decided to manage the treatment of corona in federal, provincial and basic hospitals.
In the last 24 hours, 162 COVID Cases have been added in Nepal. According to the Ministry of Health, the number of infected people in Nepal has reached 277,309.
In the last 24 hours, 3,999 PCR tests have been done. The number of deaths from COVID in Nepal is 3,030. COVID Cases in Nepal rose from 5 per cent on Tuesday.
