Basantapur: Beginning of Fagu

KATHMANDU: This year’s beginning Fagu festival i.e.  Holi has started with the yearly ritual of placing three-segment Chir – a bamboo pole fringed with colourful strips of clothes.

A 32-foot-high three-piece slit with colourful flags was placed at Dakshin Patangini, historic Mohankaji Chowk and Dakhchowk of Hanumandhoka Durbar at 8:26 this morning. With this, the Fagu festival has officially started across the country.
