UML Chairperson Oli in discussion with Madhav Nepal, meeting between two sides in Dhumbarahi

KATHMANDU: Both the parties have agreed to hold talks to resolve the CPN-UML dispute. UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, who is also the Prime Minister, has called Madhav Nepal’s side for a discussion.

According to UML sources, the leaders of both sides will hold talks at 11 am today. General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel, Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Poudel and Secretary Pradip Gyawali will participate in the talks to be held at the party office in Dhumbarahi.

Similarly, Jhala Nath Khanal and Madhav Nepal and two other leaders from the other side are expected to participate. The Madhav Nepal faction had issued a joint statement against Oli on Sunday accusing him of dissolving the communist movement.

According to a close source, Chairman Oli called the dissidents for dialogue to prevent a split in the party. Leaders who were divided after the dissolution of the House of Representatives on January 19 are holding formal discussions for the first time since the UML resurrected.
