Former UML’s response: Decision has taken us to the right place

KATHMANDU: The former UML has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to revive the CPN-UML by giving authority of the CPN to Rishi Kattel.

CPN Spokesperson and Foreign Minister Pradip Gyawali has said that the decision of the Supreme Court has helped resolve the ongoing dispute of the CPN in a positive manner.

Talking to Nepal Press, Gyawali said, “The verdict has brought us back to the situation before June 2018. If we want to unite now, we have to find a new basis. The old unity could not advance the communist movement. This decision has given a positive outlet.”

Gyawali said, “If we are to reunite with the Maoists now, all political, ideological, organizational and leadership issues will have to be discussed in a new manner. This decision has put us in the right place. We will say other things only after looking at the decision in detail.”
