Acid attack fighter and survivor Muskan Khatun to receive prestigious American award
KATHMANDU: The US Mission in Nepal has announced the International Women of Courage Award to Muskan Khatun, a survivor of an acid attack.
The US Embassy in Kathmandu has stated that the prestigious award is being presented in recognition of her continued work to end the Acid attack. The award will be presented virtually by US First Lady Jill Biden and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on 8th March, according to Ambassador Randy Berry.
The award which is currently in its 15th edition honours women around the world who have shown extraordinary courage and leadership in advocating for peace, justice, human rights, gender equality and women’s empowerment, often at great personal risk and sacrifice.
