Tourism to be promoted through traditional cuisine 

KATHMANDU: Tourism will be promoted through Nepali original and traditional food. The Gastronomy Tourism Association of Nepal is going to promote tourism through Nepali original and traditional food in order to rehabilitate Nepal’s tourism sector which has been affected by COVID-19. 

Chairman of the Association Suresh Chandra Basnet informed that Gastronomy Tourism is being developed to attract foreign tourists through Nepal’s original food. “The association will continue to promote tourism through original and traditional food by exploring the potential of Nepali food in the all provinces,” he said.

The association has also urged the government to provide proper relief to the hoteliers and workers saying that many businessmen and workers have lost their jobs due to the closure of hotels due to corona.

Secretary of the association Bhavana KC said that the government should make a special plan to rehabilitate the tourism sector, which is the economic backbone of Nepal.
