KATHMANDU: Taxi operators have staged a protest in the capital on Saturday against the arson attack on a taxi during a General Strike organized by the Dahal-Nepal faction of the CPN.
More than 200 taxi drivers and businessmen staged a protest at Maitighar Mandala. They said that their livelihoods and lives were in danger due to political strikes.
At a protest rally organized by the The Valley Taxi Entrepreneurs and Taxi Service Society, the taxi operators also demanded that strikes be stopped forever.
A taxi was set on fire in Gongabu during the General Strike by the Dahal-Nepal group on Thursday. The government has announced that it will compensate for the taxi that was set on fire.
