UN congratulates Nepal on launching vaccination campaign

The United Nations has congratulated Nepal on conducting a vaccination campaign against COVID-19. UN Resident Coordinator in Nepal Sara Biselo expressed her congratulations during a meeting with Nepali officials.

“We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the services rendered to children and families of frontline workers receiving vaccinations in the first phase, during this time of crisis.” the statement said.

Nepal is also getting vaccinated under the Covax program run by the World Health Organization under the United Nations. Nepal introduced the emergency vaccine on Tuesday. The government plans to vaccinate about 500,000 people with the Oxford-developed AstroZeneca vaccine.
