Over 11,000 unemployed may receive 60 kinds of training free of cost from government

KATHMANDU: The government will provide 60 types of skill-based training free of cost to more than 11,000 unemployed people across the country. The Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies is going to impart skill-based training to 11,205 unemployed persons from all 753 local levels across the country.

Suman Ghimire, National Director of the Prime Minister’s Employment Program at the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, told Nepal Press.

The Ministry of Labor has written to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration to inform the local level about this and the Ministry has circulated the circular to all local levels, Ministry spokesperson Basanta Adhikari told Nepal Press.

As per the annual program of the Cottage and Small Industries Development Committee, 60 different skill-based, skill enhancement and entrepreneurship development trainings will be conducted in the current Fiscal Year 2077/078 BS. .

Pushparaj Shahi, Executive Officer of the center, told Nepal Press that unemployed people from all 753 local levels of the country can fill up online forms through the centre’s online portal. According to him, the center is imparting entrepreneurship development training to a maximum of 600 people in a week, followed by a 10-day bakery basic training to 510 people, and a doll-making training for 420 people for a month along with other trainings.
