Devkota museum undergoing a facelift
Kathmandu, Jan 5 (RSS):
The Nepal Academy has submitted a detailed project report (DPR) to the Ministry of Culture to develop ‘Devkota Kavi Kunja’, the house where Mahakavi Laxmi Prasad Devkota was born, as a modern museum.
According to the officials, the project’s estimated cost is Rs 115 million, including Rs 50 million in the first phase.
As per the DPR, the four-storied building for the museum would be completed in two years.
The museum will have a statue of Mahakavi Devkota, Devkota’s audio-video, all personal effects and materials used by the poet laureate and his literary works, among others.
The Academy is also planning to organise international Nepali literary conference once life returns to normalcy after the pandemic. The event is likely on the occasion of Bhanu Jayanti.
